About Dr. Sona
Hi. I'm so glad you're here. A little about me....
I am a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist serving the areas of Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Agoura, and surrounding communities.
I have been practicing since 1993 providing treatment for individuals, couples, teens and families. I specialize in eating disorder treatment to help people recover from food and weight problems as well as body image issues. My work also focuses on healing early childhood trauma, improving relationships with others as well as the self, and navigating adoption issues. I'm interested in whole person and whole life wellness.
I thoroughly enjoy my work and feel honored to be a part of this very significant journey in people's lives. I believe the trust and safety of the therapeutic relationship allows for healing of very deep and personal pain and longing, and allows one to discover his or her most authentic self.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold my doctorate in Contemporary Psychoanalysis. I am a Training and Supervising Analyst, faculty, and Vice President of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. I am also the current President of the Central Coast chapter of IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals). In addition to providing psychotherapy, I also teach and supervise others who are therapists.
